Rainy Day in Carey Street (Unframed Print)LSM041Po
Carey Street lies behind the Royal Courts of Justice and joins Chancery Lane at its southerly end. Wildy's, the famous law bookshop is on this street, as is The Seven Stars, an atmospheric old pub much frequented by lawyers. This illustration shows a handful of barristers hurrying along Carey Street, while others descend steps at the other end. It depicts a scene which will be very familiar to anyone who has experienced London in wet weather.
