This hand painted barrister bottle-stopper is produced by a Devon-based company in U.K. whose roots are in pottery manufacturing.
The figure is made out of clay, and then hand painted. The detail is wonderful and cannot really be seen in our photo: he has bushy eyebrows, florid cheeks, a jutting chin, a wonderfully detailed wig, and, of course, barrister's gown.
It's a fun present for one who enjoys his wine.
